Love in the Time of Covid-19 UNTAMED LOVE "Man Trap"

Oddly, romance and disease seem to go hand-in-hand...
...and this particular tale adds industrial espionage into the mix!
This never-reprinted story from Quality's Untamed Love #2 (1950) shows us idealism, nobility and true love winning out!
Unfortunately, in our cynical times, such a tale couldn't be told with a straight face.
Think about that...

IT'S LOVE, LOVE, LOVE "Unwanted"

Talk about a title that screams the book's subject matter...
...but the story's title and content and title seem to reflect just the opposite!
The only creative credit we have for this tale from the second (and last) issue of this short-lived St John comic from 1958 is penciler Bill Molno, who drew the entire issue except the cover.
However, editor Al Fago moved to Charlton when St John folded a couple of months after this book was published. bringing many of his creatives (including Molno) with him!
Molno continued to work steadily in numerous genres besides romance until Charlton went all-reprint in the late 1970s.

AGAR-AGAR "Harem of Bacchus"

...well that's really all you need to know about the plot...such as it is!
Rescued by a handsome centaur!
Considering the fascination some women have for horses...nope!
I'm going to stop before I get in trouble...
This story from New England Library's Dracula #6 (1971) was written by Luis Gasca under the pen-name Sadko  and illustrated in a Peter Max-esque style by Alberto Solsona.
It's the last of three that were published in the Warren trade paperback that reprinted the first six issues of this bi-weekly British magazine.
The remaining stories have been unseen by American audiences, but will be posted here over the next few months.
It'll be a groovy trip, baby!

Marvel's Disappearing Black Woman!

Hey, Marvelites, remember Jill Jerold?
Before Ororo Munroe was Storm...
Before Misty Knight was a Daughter of the Dragon...
After this brief appearance by Johnny in Marvel's Models, Inc #1 (2009), the relationship was never mentioned again, and Jill disappeared into limbo once more!
Pity...

SOUL LOVE "Teacher"

...comes this, sadly, never-published tale which would've appeared in a magazine entitled Soul Love, if DC had the guts to publish it!
(Note: this post uses scans of photocopies of the original art, so the images are not as crisp as we usually run.
But we felt the historical significance of the story warranted running what was available!)
Written and penciled by Kirby, inked by Vince Colletta
You can read other Soul Love tales we've presented HERE , HERE, and HERE.
Soul Love would have been the second romance comic oriented to a Black audience.
The first was the 1950s series Negro Romance, which we covered HERE.
