GIRLS' ROMANCES "Made for Each Other"

Sometimes a cover just doesn't go with the story it's supposed to promote...
Art by Don Heck and Vince Colletta
...like this cover which (though nicely-done) doesn't match up with the story!
Heck, they got the girl's hair color wrong and the guy doesn't wear glasses!
Oh, well...on with the story...
Is it just me or is Candy a little passive-aggressive?
Illustrated by the talented Art Saaf, this story from DC's Girl's Romances #159 (1971) makes Candy, sadly, seem like a real doormat.
I'd love to blame the writer, but we don't know who he/she is!
Next week:
We haven't decided yet what it'll be, but we can guarantee that...
You'll Cry Your Eyes Out if You Miss It!
(Oh, you've heard that, eh?)

And now a word from out sponsor...

GIRLS' ROMANCES "It's Over -- All Over!"

They're the last words anyone wants to hear from a loved one...
...as presented in this lead tale from DC's Girls' Romances #139 (1969)
When the story was reprinted and updated with modified hairstyles and clothing in Young Romance #203 (1975), it was retitled "Come to My Wedding!"
Though the writer is unknown, the art is credited to Tony Abruzzo, who specialized in romance stories and covers from 1954 to arond 1973, exclusively for DC!
He was one of the artists whose work Roy Lichtenstein "appropriated" for his Pop Art paintings.

GIRLS' ROMANCES "How To Get Your Man"

Do you really need a self-help book to find True Love?
Page 1 inked by Dick Giordano
This story from Girls' Romances #139 (1969) gives you the answer!
The cover art by Dick Giordano was reused as the splash page for the story itself...
...but the art for the story is actually by Bob Brown and George Roussos, neither of whom were particularly noted for romance story work.
The story was reprinted in Young Romance #203 (1975), retitled "Love Lessons" and with some hairstyles and clothing redrawn to update the styles.
For example, the panel from page 7 used on the cover above shows Eloise now wearing pants instead of shorts...
