Yuletide Tidings LITTLE WOMEN Part 1

It's hard to believe that, until the past couple of years...
...there was only one comics adaptation of the classic book Little Women!
And it was part of an early 1980s book-and-record set marketed towards pre-teens!
(No, there never was a Classics Illustrated version!)
Here's Part 1, with Part 2 to follow on Christmas Eve!
The adaptor of Louisa May Alcott's novel is unknown, but the art is co-penciled by Rich Buckler & Dick Giordano and inked by Giordano.

Yuletide Tidings TEEN-AGERS INGENUE "Susie's Theory of Relativity...or How to Live with Relatives at Christmas"

It's strangely-difficult to find Christmas-themed romance comics...
...but teen magazines like this Dell's Teen-Agers Ingenue from the early 1960s help fill the void!
Susan Perl also contributed to Harvey Kurtman's HELP!, as well as hundreds of children's books (and some adult stuff too!)!

Yuletide Tidings PEP COMICS "Archie in 'Christmas Cheers' "

It's comics' all-American boy...as most of you don't know him...
...a buck-toothed, layabout, closer to Reggie (who doesn't appear in this tale), than the wholesome teen of today!
(BTW, for an explanation of War Bonds, and why Archie's dad invested part of his son's $50 check, go HERE!)
Written by Harry Sahle and Ed Goggin, penciled by Sahle and inked by "Ginger" (Virginia Drury), this story from MLJ's Pep Comics #46 (1944) is notable for the debut of two characters; Pop Tate, owner of "Pop's Chocklit Shop" (Called "Tate's" in this tale), and Gabby, a short-lived character who screwed-up other people's lives by continually blabbing things others were not meant to know!
As you can see, the original Bob Montana character designs (which Sahle and Drury matched almost exactly) had not yet been updated to the streamlined Dan DeCarlo versions, which serve as the primary templates of the characters from the 1950s to this day!

HI-SCHOOL ROMANCE "Baby-Sitter's Blues"

From the title, you wouldn't think this was a Yuletide story...
...but it most definitely is!
Does this story (by unknown writers, artists, or a writer-artist) from Harvey's Hi-School Romance #3 (1950) give you the "warm and fuzzy" feeling such holiday tales are supposed to provide?
Merry Christmas!!!

BARBIE "See You Later, Christmas Gator" Part 2: Special Delivery & Part 3: The Present

...on Christmas Eve, Santa Claus runs into trouble when he's forced down over Florida by a tropical storm!
Luckily, Barbie is nearby...
Normally, we'd run Part 3 next week, but the chapters are so short, we're going to present it now...

Written by Angelo DeCesare, penciled by Mario Capaldi, and inked by John Lucas, this never-reprinted tale from Marvel's Barbie #50 (1995) was typical of the kool flights of fancy the series specialized in.
Barbie, and its' sister title Barbie Fashion, were two secret success stories for Marvel in the 1990s.
Because they weren't superhero titles, the hardcore (mostly male) fans never even noticed them, but the two books ran an impressive 63 and 53 issues respectively at a time when many titles lasted 12 issues...or less!

WITHIN OUR REACH "Gift of the Magi"

It's a Yuletide love story that never gets stale...

...as it continues, with each retelling, to demonstrate what the "Spirit of Christmas" really is!
Adapted (with very few changes) from the classic O Henry short story and illustrated by comic creative P Craig Rusell for the benefit comic  Star*Reach's Within Our Reach (1991), a Christmas charity benefit book with proceeds going equally to AmFAR and Sempervirens.
The book was also Star*Reach Publishing's final project under their own imprint.
