We Usually Present the Earlier Version of a Story First...
...but in this case, we decided to run the later, re-illustrated (but not rewritten) tale first!
Illustrated by Osacar Fraga, this new rendition in Eerie Publications' Witches' Tales V1N9 (1969) of an older story from Stanley Morse's Weird Mysteries #2 (1952) is decent, but not too over-the-top or grotesque, as most of these reworkings tended to be!
OTOH, the original version illustrated (and likely written) by Basil Wolverton, is...well...read it for yourself!
All we can say is...WOW!
For the finale, here's another redone version with a difference!
The art is the same as the original, but the script is totally-rewritten!
Tim Fuller rewrote the story for Source Point Press' Sham Comics #3 (2019).
Happy Halloween!
