Aerial Ardor BONNIE TAYLOR: AIRLINE STEWARDESS "Flight 101--to Heartbreak!" Conclusion

We Have Already Seen...

...when Bonnie Taylor: Airline Stewardess, filling in for a sick friend, encounters a former beau (with his current fiancee)...who slips her a note asking for a secret rendezvous...she's thrown into emotional turmoil!

This story from DC's Young Romance #126 (1963), written by Robert Kanigher and illustrated by John Romita Sr,  seems innoccuous enough,
But, within a couple of issues, Bonnie's throwing herself at literally every guy (and even a ghost or two) she runs into, ready to marry some of them before the second part of her two-part tales!
(I'm sure it it wasn't for the extremely-strict Comics Code Authority, we'd see some of the between-the-sheets action even all-ages comics of today occasionally indulge in!)

Aerial Ardor BONNIE TAYLOR: AIRLINE STEWARDESS "Flight 101--to Heartbreak!" Part 1

We've Already Presented a Pair of Tales...

...HERE and HERE starring our horny air hostess, but this was her introduction!

It Actually Continues on Friday!
(We would have said "tomorrow", but the flight was delayed!)

This introductory tale, written by Robert Kanigher and illustrated by John Romita Sr, from DC's Young Romance #126 (1963) introduces Bonnie Taylor, who, despite her declarations of eternal love for whoever her current paramour is, eagerly jumps into the arms of someone at the very next layover and professes perpetual love...and sometimes marriage...for him!
She kept up this manic pace until #139, when she apparently settled down!

Halloween HeartBreak YOUNG ROMANCE "Bonnie Taylor: Airline Stewardess in One Kiss Forever" Part 2

...depressed airline stewardess Bonnie Taylor, on layover in Scotland, drives into the Highlands, just in time for a local festival celebrating the mythical "Rising of Wee Kirk"!
But Wee Kirk actually appears, and she meets an incredibly-handsome resident of the time-lost town!

BTW, he's gone by the next issue, where Bonnie is implied to be a reincarnated Egyptian princess by a man seeming to be a lover who's followed her though the ages to the present day!
We'll save that one for next Halloween...

Halloween HeartBreak YOUNG ROMANCE "Bonnie Taylor: Airline Stewardess in One Kiss Forever!" Part 1

Ever hear of Brigadoon?
It was a long-running Broadway musical, adapted into a major motion picture, about a mysterious Scottish village that appears in our dimension for a couple of days once a century, then disappears again, taking anybody within it's boundaries with it!
There was a recent AppleTV mini-series musical parodying it...Schmigadoon...

...which was equally-good, if not better (but somewhat snarky)!
Anyway, that concept is the basis for this haunted tale about the eternally-searching for love Bonnie Taylor: Airline Stewardess...

Just thought we'd mention it, for historical context...

They just don't write (or draw) 'em like that anymore!
You just know this moment of passionate pleasure is going to be followed by tragedy...as you'll see...
(You didn't think we'd make you wait a week...did you!)
You'd Cry Your Eyes Out if We Did That!

YOUNG ROMANCE "Bonnie Taylor, Airline Stewardess in Never Let Go!" Part 2

We Have Already Seen...

...before we continue, I gotta ask: "What's a 'flaming love story'?"
A year ago, airline stewardess Bonnie Taylor met a charming Irish fishing boat captain named Johnny Shannon during a layover in Ireland!
The two fell deeply, intensely, passionately in love...
Continuing her penchant for Celtic men with a supernatural bent, the very next issue finds Bonnie falling for a Scotsman from a Brigadoon-like town that appears for a few days every century, then disappears!
(I think I'll save that one for our annual Halloween blogathon in October!)
This never-reprinted tale from DC's Young Romance #135 (1965) was scripted by Robert Kanigher and illustrated by a guy who would jump from DC to Marvel only a few months later...replacing Spider-Man co-creator Steve Ditko on the flagship title and eventually becoming Marvel's art director for over 20 years....John Romita Sr!
DC's Silver-Age editors believed romance titles needed ongoing strips to keep the readers coming back and every book had one during the mid-1960s.
They ran from traditional-style soap operas (Reach for Happiness and 20 Miles to Heartbreak) to series about unmarried working women seeking love in the Big City or their workplace (Private Diary of Mary Robin RN and 3 Girls -- Their Lives -- Their Loves)!
The Bonnie Taylor, Airline Stewardess series ran from #126 to #139.

YOUNG ROMANCE "Bonnie Taylor, Airline Stewardess in Never Let Go!" Part 1

For St Patrick's Day, we present the only Irish romance comic story I've ever found...
...from a series about a stewardess seeking love...all over the globe!
Actually, Part 2 will appear...tomorrow!
Bonnie Taylor, Airline Stewardess premiered in DC's Young Romance #126 (1963), featuring a character who fell deeply, intensely, seriously, in love with a different guy in every issue as she circled the globe!
Since this tale appeared in DC's Young Romance #135 (1964), less than a year after the strip's premiere, and Bonnie was ostensibly waiting out the year before marrying Johnny, what was she doing with all those other men between #127 and #135???
She wanted to marry a number of them!
Was this a script meant for a stand-alone story, but ended up being shoehorned into the series due to deadline problems?
Did Miss Taylor have Short Attention Span Disorder?
Or was Bonnie a Comics Code-approved nymphomaniac?
BTW, I wasn't intending to run Young Romance stories two weeks in a row, but I thought there'd be more romance stories set in Ireland than this lone tale...
