Second Chance at Love & Romance on the Range LOVE STORIES "His Other Wife!"

Second Chances Don't Always Come Along...
...so when one does appear, it's best you grab at it before it vanishes!

This never-reprinted "contemporary Western" romance story, illustrated by penciler Mike Sekowsky and inker Jack Abel appeared in DC's Love Stories #149 (1973).
The script mught be by the book's editor, Robert Kanigher, but we don't know for certain.

Next week:
We haven't decided yet what story it'll be, but we can guarantee that...

Super-Love WONDER WOMAN (and SUPERGIRL) "Fight to the Death!"

Cover art by Carmine Infantino and Irv Novick
The cover pretty much says it all.
Prepare for a classic Silver Age catfight!
Grok has never appeared again, not even in the many reboots that have occurred since Crisis on Infinite Earths...
Written by Bill Finger, penciled by Win Mortimer, and inked by Jack Abel, this tale has never been reprinted in color since it's first appearance in DC's Wonder Woman #177 (1969).
You may wonder about the tag line..."Turn the page for the real END!"
This is the page...
Art by Mike Sekowsky and Dick Giordano
...and the series was about to do the wildest reboot any comic had ever done up to that point!
My blog-buddy, Rip Jagger, can fill you in on that fascinating story, starting HERE!

Super-Spy-Love JET DREAM & HER STUNT GIRL COUNTERSPIES "Achilles Heel"

We Return to One of Our Most Popular Categories...
...with a cautionary tale about handsome men featuring an all-woman crimefighting team that predates Charlie's Angels by almost a decade!
This short tale by writer Dick Wood, penciler Mike Sekowsky, and inker Frank Giacoia is from Gold Key's Man from U.N.C.L.E. #13 (1967).
Jet Dream and Her StuntGirl CounterSpies appeared in 4-page tales in the middle of the book from #8 to #22, then appeared in a book-length story in a one-shot comic.
It's never been reprinted, and very few of the stories are available on the Net...until now!
We're re-presenting the entire series, beginning with the premiere currently at our "sister" blog Heroines!™. and crossing over with "brother" blog Crime & Punishment!
Next Week: Another Tale of Romance (and/or Seduction) with an Amazing Woman Warrior!

FALLING IN LOVE "I Was a Prisoner of Love!"

It's a new month...and a new topic for the month!
Read the story and see if you can guess what type of tale we'll be presenting for the rest of the month!
(Hint: It ain't what you'll think!)
Did you guess the genre for the month from this never-reprinted, cover-featured story from DC's Falling in Love #71 (1964), illustrated by penciler Mike Sekowsky and inkers Joe Giella and Frank Giacoia?
It ain't show business romance!
(Although that's a whole category perfect for another month!)
It ain't men who use women and then dump them!
It ain't women who let themselves be treated like doormats!
Actually, the answer is purely in the (admittedly-metaphorical) title!
We're doing "Love is a Prison" in September...which will feature one (or both) of the protagonists incarcerated!
Yes, this story is a bit of a cheat, but the tale is so delightfully-overwrought and the cover was sooo kool, that we wanted to find some reason to post it!
And you did enjoy it, didn't you?
Forgive us?
Next Week...
One (or Both) of Our Lovers is Imprisoned!
We Can Guarantee That...
