LOVE STORIES "That Special Man"

Romance comics were experiencing a slow death spiral in the early 1970s...
...with DC cancelling books one-by-one until only this generically-titled book remained!
This Art Saff/Vince Colletta-illustrated tale from DC's generically-titled Love Stories #152 (1973) was the penultimate romance story from DC, since it was the next-to-last tale in this final issue of the company's last surviving romance title!
The writer is unknown, but is suspected to be editor Robert Kanigher, who had penned numerous stories before...

MY OWN ROMANCE "I Married a Millionare!"

No, it's not Melania Trump's story...
...but this was (and still is) a fairly-common fantasy!
This story from Atlas' My Own Romance #55 (1957) was illustrated by Shirley Sonya Zweifach, under the pen-name "Ann Brewster" which she utilized for her entire comics career from 1940 to 1960.
Shirley was one of the few female artists to do non-romance or heroine work, illustrating superheroes like The Black Owl, BulletMan, and Mr Scarlet, as well as crime comics and Classics Illustrated!
However, after World War II ended, she was limited to romance comics as returning veterans took over the male-oriented series and books they had left behind while in military service!

We're almost at boiling point!
And things are about to spill over, as we'll see...next month!
This chapter of "Reach for Happiness" from Secret Hearts #134 (1969) was written by Jack Miller, and the art credits are stabilizing as Jay Scott Pike seems to have penciled the entire story with inks by George Roussos, except the cover art penciled by Neal Adams and inked by Dick Giordano!
Note: this issue was edited by Joe Orlando, just before Dick Giordano took over.
Jack Miller (who writes "Reach for Happiness") was the book's editor, and left the position as of this issue, but continues to write the strip!)
