Super-Love YOUNG HEROES IN LOVE "Your Lips! Your Eyes! Your Nuclear Breath Vision!" Conclusion

We Have Already Seen...

(Actually, we haven't seen this scene...yet!)
A newly-assembled group of youthful heroes and heroines meet their final member and check out their new Arctic base of operations...particularly the living arrangements...
As I said last time, a "superhero soap opera".
You'll be seeing more of this ensemble of...shall we say, super "Friends" (remember this is the mid-1990s) in the near future.

Super-Love YOUNG HEROES IN LOVE "Your Lips! Your Eyes! Your Nuclear Breath Vision!" Part 1

Though Published by DC...

...this introduction to a never-reprinted 1997 series is about characters who are an extremely-minor part of the DC Multiverse.
(They only crossed-over once with other DC characters and never even left their own title to do so!
If you didn't read Young Heroes in Love, you'd never know they existed!)
So dive in, and enjoy a superhero soap opera that most of you didn't even know existed!
Are those nipple rings???
Now that co-creators Dan Raspler (writer) and Dev Madan (penciler/designer) have assembled the protagonists, be here Friday when you'll see revelations (and I do mean revelations!) both in terms of plot and art!
Keep in mind we are a family-friendly blog, so get your mind out of the gutter!

WITHIN OUR REACH "Gift of the Magi"

It's a Yuletide love story that never gets stale...

...as it continues, with each retelling, to demonstrate what the "Spirit of Christmas" really is!
Adapted (with very few changes) from the classic O Henry short story and illustrated by comic creative P Craig Rusell for the benefit comic  Star*Reach's Within Our Reach (1991), a Christmas charity benefit book with proceeds going equally to AmFAR and Sempervirens.
The book was also Star*Reach Publishing's final project under their own imprint.

Another Xmas-themed story!

BARBIE "Designing Woman"

In 1991, Marvel/Star (the "young readers" line) introduced two titles about Barbie...
Barbie (without Ken in the title as the first comic had done)...
...and Barbie Fashion!
(Both covers by John Romita Sr)
Unlike the 1960s Dell comic, these books didn't use the concept that Barbie was a doll whom little fan club girls told tales about, but portrayed her and her friends and relatives (including Ken, Christie, Midge, and little sister Skipper) as straightforward comic book characters.
Both titles had healthy half-decade runs, but have never been reprinted.
Here's a tale from #10 (1991), which includes some rather pointed insights into haute couture, written by Lisa Trusiani, penciled by James Brock and inked by Roy Richardson...
