Super-Love MIGHTY THOR "To Become an Immortal!" Conclusion

...Thor has brought his mortal love, Jane Foster, to Asgard to "meet the family" and get All-Father Odin's approval for marriage!
However, things are not going as well as hoped...

Though the romance between Jane and Thor ended at this point, it wasn't truly over (as explained HERE)!
Eventually, Jane became the Goddess of Thunder by wielding Mjonir!
But before that momentous event occurred in the Marvel Universe, it happened in an "imaginary story" that was never part of official Marvel history...though it was published by Marvel!
You can see that story HERE!
Next Week:
Another super-romance (with a wedding) featuring the most famous couple in comic book history!

Super-Love MIGHTY THOR "To Become an Immortal!" Part 1

From Mighty Thor's introduction in Marvel's Journey into Mystery #83 (1962)...

...one of the ongoing plotlines was Dr Don Blake aka Thor's love for Nurse Jane Foster.

It was a classic case of unrequited love, complicated by the fact that Thor's father (Odin, ruler of the Norse gods) disapproved of the romance, believing the mortal woman was "unworthy" of his immortal son!
Thor eventually revealed his secret to Jane, and, in Marvel's Mighty Thor #136 (1966), brought her to Asgard to meet the family...
This certainly takes meeting the prospective in-laws to a new level of stress!

Super-Love with SUPERGIRL (and WONDER WOMAN) "Revolt of the Super-Chicks" Part 3

...actually, we'll see this scene by Supergirl series artist Jim Mooney in. couple of pages!
In the meantime, all you need to know is that Supergirl has renounced being a crimefighter to become a Paris fashion model.
Wonder Woman, at Superman's request, follows Kara to talk her out of it, but becomes enraptured by a romantic Frenchman in the City of Love!
Meanwhile, metamorphing villain Multi-Face plots to steal an experimental rocket from a base nearby the "Isle of Love" where both the heroines are vacationing...
Considering they were both ready to throw away their careers (and in Wonder Woman's case, her long-time love Steve Trevor),  the ending seems a bit...contrived!
The two heroines would meet again in the final issue of Wonder Woman before she renounced her powers for totally-different reasons...
Err...never mind!
BTW, you can read this tale HERE!

Super-Love with SUPERGIRL (and WONDER WOMAN) "Revolt of the Super-Chicks" Part 1

We wind up our Supergirl Blogathon with the first team-up of...aw, you guessed!
Let's look in on the 1960s' most-notorious lovebirds, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, or as the story refers to them, "...two familiar faces..."!
Continue the adventure at...
Yep, you can tell this is the 1960s!
This never-reprinted Silver Age tale from DC's Brave and the Bold #63 (1965-66) features...
A cameo by Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton!
References to James Bond!
Superman doing an amazing "Adam West as Batman" imitation when discussing romance!
(BTW, this story was published before the Batman TV show debuted!)
And easily-swayed, apparently-nymphomaniac, superheroines!
What were writer Bob Haney and artist John Rosenberger (both of whom had romance comics experience) thinking???

Super-Love with SUPERGIRL "StarFire's Revenge" Part 1

...villainess StarFire's plan to use a romantic lure to use a super-power-eliminating drug on Supergirl works...sort of!
The drug causes Kara's powers to temporarily shut-down at random moments.
Luckily, Kandorian science, though unable to reverse the effects, provides her with tech to give her replacement super-strength and flight (though not invulnerability)!
Meanwhile, the villainess has killed her romantic catspaw, Derek, to prevent him from revealing to the world...
What happens if Kara's powers cut out now?
