John Buscema Tales OUR LOVE STORY "Boy Who Can't be Mine!"

Though Marvel continued publishing romance comics until 1976...
...they stopped running new material in 1973.
This tale from Our Love Story #16 (1972) was John Buscema's final romance comic assignment.
Written by Stan Lee and inked by Joe Sinnott (who inked more issues of Fantastic Four than anybody else in history, including almost all of Buscema's stories), the story demonstrates Buscema's almost effortless mastery of graphic storytelling, going from plot point to plot point with a variety of angles and perspectives that a TV or movie cinematographer would be proud of!

SECRET HEARTS "So Little Time!" / FALLING IN LOVE "Perfect Gift"

Here's a bittersweet Yuletide tale about potential love that was published twice...

...first, half a century ago, in DC's Secret Hearts #87 (1963)...
...then, with the usual "updating" of fashions, hairstyles, and automobiles (and a title change) in DC's Falling in Love #128 (1972)!
Not every Christmas romance story ends like a Hallmark Channel Holiday Movie, even in the 1960s-70s!
Illustrated by veteran artist John Rosenberger, the name of the scripter of this melancholy tale is lost to the snows of time.
If you find this tale too depressing, click HERE for a much happier one we ran a couple of hears ago!

CHRISTMAS!!!

Alex Toth Tales SECRET HEARTS "20 Miles to Heartbreak" Part 3

We Have Already Seen...

...actually, this cover scene by penciler Dick Giordano and inker Vince Colletta doesn't occur in the story, since it's not Juan at the door!
(In fact, he only appears in a flashback in this chapter!)
So who is it???
Yep, we finally get back to Young Love for the soap opera-esque finale...
TOMORROW!
You'll Cry Your Eyes Out If You Miss It!!!

The third chapter (out of four) from DC's Secret Hearts #142 (1970) was written by Barbara Friedlander, penciled and lettered by Alex Toth and inked by Vince Colletta.
