Amorous Education CANDY "Chemical Formula"

...was the final version of a plot used three times by writer Jack Mendelsohn.
This is the second version of the tale!
This never-reprinted story from Quality's Candy #42 (1953) has some differences from the later Tippy Teen tale, but the similarities are unmistakable.

Amorous Education CAMPUS LOVES "They Said I was Fast"

Is this how the repressed readers of 1950s comics saw college sex...
...as if school was a modern Sodom?
Quality Comics' Campus Loves #2 (1950) presented this "naughty" tale, which couldn't be reprinted after the Comics Code came into effect, even with numerous alterations like similar tales we showed HERE and HERE!

The art is by Bill Ward, who later became noted for risque "good girl" work like this cover art...

I'm not ashamed to admit it's in my personal library.
It's a Price Guide!
I use it as reference!
Really...

Amorous Education CAMPUS LOVES "My Shameless Deception"

Think the catty schemers of The CW and FreeForm are innovative?
...well, such machinations were a common plot element when your parents (or even grandparents) were in class and the school paper was the Internet of it's time!
Ripped from the pages of Quality's Campus Loves #4 (1949), this tale of truth and tattletales doesn't have any credits and even the experts at the Grand Comics Database are stumped as to the identities of the writer and artist!
Interestingly, when it was reprinted only a year or so later in Quality's Love Experiences #12 (1951), there were some weird, almost arbitrary changes made, starting with the title and opening caption...
...and minor changes to backgounds, as seen here, but no other text or art changes censoring women's clothing as seen HERE!

Amorous Education SORORITY SECRETS "Secret!"

Halloween's over, so it's time to return to class...
...where students are diligently-applying themselves to the subject at hand!
Moral: if you don't like someone, blackmail them with a lie (but only if there's nothing truthful that's really juicy).
Ironically, that's exactly the sort of thing we see on prime-time soaps today, almost 70 years later!
This never-reprinted tale from Toby's Sorority Secrets #1 (1954) shows the styles of several noted Golden Age artists.
Among the talents listed as working on the book (but not as to which stories they did) are; Bernard Baily, Ben Brown, David Gantz, and John Rosenberger.
This particular story shows both Baily and Rosenberger's work in certain panels, so we'll go with them as the illustrators.
The writer, though, is unknown.

Amorous Education CO-ED ROMANCES "Education for Love"

Cupid returns to the classroom...

...as we spend the rest of September with hormonally-driven students in college and high school!

PL's Co-Ed Romances
(and its' "sister book" Love Life) only had a single issue each in 1951.
The publisher is noted as the only comics company with more than a single title to last only 6 months!
