OUR LOVE STORY "But He's the Boy I Love!"

We weren't planning on running another tale from Our Love Story for a couple of months, but the penciler of this story, Gene Colan, passed away on June 23rd, and we wanted to present a sample of his artwork.
Gene worked for almost every company at one point or another, and in every genre from horror to war to superhero to romance, all with a very distinctive style, much more naturalistic than most "comic book" artists.
Enjoy this tale from Our Love Story #5, 1970...
Next week:
We haven't decided yet what it'll be, but we can guarantee that...
You'll Cry Your Eyes Out if You Miss It!
(Oh, you've heard that, eh?)

And now a word from out sponsor...

HEART & SOUL "Take Me Back"

Can a European aristocrat be a happy housewife in Middle America?
Judge for yourself in this scintillating saga from 1954's Heart & Soul #2!
Penciled by Mike Sekowsky, best known for writing/drawing radical revamps in the 1970s of both Wonder Woman...
...and Supergirl (in Adventure Comics).
Inked by Mike Esposito, who did a lot of romance work along with superhero and sci-fi art.

We haven't decided yet what it'll be, but we can guarantee that...

OUR LOVE STORY "Only One Can Win!"

During the Silver Age of Comics, Marvel had a pair of romance books which featured work by their hottest artists, including this pair, John Buscema and Don Heck, on this torrid tale from Our Love Story #3.
Since fanboys don't usually read or buy these books, they're among the hardest to find titles of the 1960s, which is a shame since the art is first-rate!

HAUNTED LOVE "Reunion"

"Gothic romances" were one of the last genres to make it to comic books, and once they arrived, didn't last very long.
This story is from the longest-lasting title, Haunted Love.
Will Anton and Nadia "put one over" on Daniel, or is Nadia actually psychic?
Will Daniel and Cleo be reunited?
And if so, how?
Will True Love prevail?
Yes, fans, it's our first multi-part post!
But Fear Not!
You don't have to wait until next week!
The heart-tugging conclusion will be posted...
You'll cry your eyes out if you miss it!
